Greetings from the Secure Homeland
By Denis Campbell • May 9th, 2008 • Category: FeaturesWhat a day. I rushed this morning to post stories before boarding a flight to Boston via Amsterdam this morning. Unplugged for 16-hours it was interesting to step off the airplane to hear a live, disembodied CNN audio feed of an Obama speech about his love for Israel on the PA system in the Passport Hall. It was as if the US Immigrations Service Officers were as much interested in what was happening in the race that never ends.
And what kind of a day this has been.
The feeds began to cross my PC an hour ago with a few clear set of contradictory stories. Everyone I spoke to on two airplanes and in the arrival hall informally said the same thing, “when will Hillary quit.” Despite the outward defiance and her supporters drinking massive doses of KoolAid – the first a group of 16 Hillary supporters standing by a roadside in Louisville, KY – 16(!), being newsworthy on blogHillary, a few apparent cracks in the armour are beginning to show.
The math is daunting. Obama is 167 delegates away thanks to key pick-ups on the Hill today.
Hillary is broke and the debt is now $11.4 million dollars and growing.
Obama said he would consider Hillary as a running mate.
Hillary vowed to fight on, again.
Obama is concerned about the impact of his campaign retiring her debt because of the negative campaigning.
Everyone is worried about the fall and will Hillary suppoerters drink Obama Kool-Aid?
Terry McAuliff, Hillary’s chief fund raiser and strategist said it will be resolved by June.
Michigan and Florida have eaten enough humble pie and seem willing to offer a solution that will allow both delegates to be seated and the main page video shows that pundit opinion and public opinion are growing against her. So is this movement 48-hours after Indiana? Only time will tell.
We will report all weekend and early next week from the USA, so stay tuned. I’m getting that breathless feeling already.
